National Carers Week
National Carers Week, dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating carers in Australia, will be held from Sunday 13 to Saturday 19 October 2024.
National Carers Week is about recognising and celebrating the outstanding contribution unpaid carers make to our nation.
There are over 3 million unpaid carers in Australia providing care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, mental illness, alcohol or drug dependency, long term health condition or who is frail due to age.
Anyone at any time can become a carer. National Carers Week is an opportunity to educate and raise awareness among all Australians about the diversity of carers and their caring roles.

Carers Day Out
Carers Day Out offers a wonderful opportunity for carers to connect with one another and enjoy a variety of entertainment, relaxation, and wellbeing activities. Attendees can look forward to live entertainment, and a diverse range of activities such as arts and craft workshops, health, and wellness sessions.
Lunch, tea, and coffee will be provided, along with variety of information stalls to connect carers with relevant service providers and support resources.

Carers NSW is hosting a range of online and face to face events across NSW during National Carers Week. These events can be viewed on the Upcoming Events page or through the link below.
National Carers Week Grants
National Carers Week Grants returned in 2024 thanks to ongoing funding from the NSW Government Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
This year carer support groups and organisations from across NSW were able to apply for a grant up to $500 to celebrate and recognise the contribution of family and friend carers in their communities by holding local events and activities.
Thank you to all those who submitted a National Carers Week grant application.
